In May 2017, Bord na Móna received planning permission for its proposed Cloncreen Wind Farm. Planning was granted for 21 turbines with a maximum blade to tip height of 170 metres. The purpose of the proposed development is to generate renewable electricity for the Irish Market
We will develop the wind farm on Cloncreen bog located in Co. Offaly. The proposed wind farm will be known as Cloncreen Wind Farm.
Bord na Móna has conducted a detailed site selection exercise to identify the optimal site for the development of a large-scale wind energy project.
